Woman Killed, Five Injured in Tulare County Car Accident on Avenue 384 near Monson Avenue; Gabriel Johnson Arrested For DUI

Fresno, California (December 26, 2019) – A woman was killed and five other people were injured in an alleged DUI crash in Tulare County Thursday morning, a local news source report.

The deadly accident happened on Avenue 384 near Monson Avenue, just southeast of Dinuba.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Kia, driven by Gabriel Johnson, 33, was traveling westbound on Avenue 384 when for reasons still under investigation, the Kia veered into the eastbound lanes, where it collided head-on with an oncoming Chevy.

A female passenger in the Chevy was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

Four other occupants of the Chevy were also injured as a result of the crash. Their conditions were not immediately provided.

Johnson was taken to a nearby hospital with severe injuries.

Officials found a controlled substance in the Kia and Johnson was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.

The accident remains under investigation.
