1 Killed, 2 Injured in 6-Vehicle Crash on Foothill Freeway in Duarte
Woman Killed, Two Hospitalized after Duarte Multi-Car Accident on Foothill (210) Freeway at Buena Vista Street Off-Ramp
Duarte, California (December 15, 2019) – According to a local news source, a person was killed and two other people were hospitalized early Sunday morning after a traffic accident involving six vehicles on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Duarte.
The fatal crash happened at about 2:45 a.m. on the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway at the Buena Vista Street exit and involved six vehicles.
The California Highway Patrol said a Ford Fusion slammed into a guardrail for an unknown reason and was then hit by a Ford Escape. A third vehicle, a Ford Mustang, struck a Toyota Highlander.
Two other vehicles were somehow involved in the crash.
A 21-year-old woman who was riding as a passenger in the Highlander was ejected from the vehicle upon the impact. She died in the crash. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
Two people sustained unknown injuries and were taken to a local area hospital. Their names and conditions at this time were not disclosed.
The driver of the Ford Mustang was arrested for DUI. The driver of the Ford Fusion reportedly fled the scene after the crash.
A SigAlert was issued at around 3:24 a.m. blocking all westbound lanes of the Foothill (210) Freeway.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
