Driver Killed, 2 Hurt in San Diego Car Crash on Interstate 15 near Interstate 8

San Diego, California (April 27, 2020) – One person was killed, and two others were injured in a two-car accident on Sunday morning in San Diego, according to police.

The crash transpired at about 12:15 a.m. April 27 on Interstate 15 near Interstate 8.

A 1999 Lincoln Town Car, driven by a San Diego woman, was traveling southbound on the roadway at a low rate of speed when it was rear-ended by a 2016 Kia Optima, operated by a 26-year-old woman from Spring Valley, according to the authorities.

Following the accident, the Lincoln burst into flames. The driver and a passenger in the Lincoln were trapped in their vehicle. Passersby freed the passenger, said the CHP.

The Lincoln driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger sustained major burns.

The Kia driver was hospitalized in unknown condition.

Alcohol or drugs are believed to have played a role in the mishap.

Three right lanes of southbound Interstate 15 were closed as a result of the crash.

An investigation into the crash is underway.

Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, Mr. Arin Khodaverdian believes that car accident claims are rarely straightforward regardless of the circumstances involved. “Liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim and it is crucial, therefore, to have an experienced attorney on your side,” He said.

Mr. Khodaverdian has worked for many years as a wrongful death and personal injury attorney. He and his team of attorneys has helped thousands of injury victims and their families recover over $100 million in compensation. “In one case, we recovered a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim who was killed by a negligent driver.”

Swift action by an experienced attorney helps preserve evidence, interview witnesses, and begin to pursue those responsible for the incident.
