Man Killed in Fresno DUI Car Accident at Nees and Chestnut Avenues
Fresno, California (April 25, 2020) – One person died, and another one was hurt following an alleged DUI traffic collision that happened in the area of northeast Fresno Saturday afternoon.
On April 25, at around 3:00 p.m., officers received a report of a crash involving two vehicles at Nees and Chestnut avenues.
As per the report, a pickup truck driven by a male party, who was under the influence of alcohol, slammed into a red Volkswagen sedan that was traveling westbound on Nees Avenue.
A man riding in the passenger seat of the Volkswagen sedan was rushed to Saint Agnes Medical Center, where he later died.
The Volkswagen driver was also hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities said the male operator of the truck was not injured following the wreck.
The suspect was arrested by Police and taken into custody on DUI charges.
The fatal accident remains under investigation.
