Jesse Esparza Arrested, 1 Hospitalized after Santa Rosa Crash on Montgomery Drive near Spring Lake

Santa Rosa, California (February 4, 2020) – One person was injured in a suspected DUI crash on Sunday night in Santa Rosa, according to police.

The crash occurred at about 8:45 p.m., February 2, on Montgomery Drive near Spring Lake.

The police said Jesse Esparza, 69, of Sonoma was driving a silver Nissan Sedan east on Montgomery Drive when he drifted into an oncoming black Honda sedan traveling west. The Nissan and the Honda then collided head-on trapping one person in the Honda.

Emergency crews responded and extricated one person from the wreckage. The patient was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Esparza was arrested for alleged DUI and causing injury.

The crash remains under investigation.
