1 Hospitalized after Cuyama Valley Crash near Highway 166 and Kirschenmann Road

Cuyama Valley, California (December 26, 2019) – One person was injured in a traffic accident involving a semitrailer in the Cuyama Valley Thursday morning, according to California Highway Patrol report.

The two-vehicle crash happened at about 9:30 a.m. near Highway 166 and Kirschenmann Road.

According to the CHP report, a semitrailer collided with a car near Highway 166 and Kirschenmann Road for an undetermined reason.

One person was transported to Marian medical center with minor injuries.

As per the report, a CalStar medical helicopter initially was dispatched but later cancelled.

The wreck caused heavy traffic on Highway 166. The CHP said Highway 166 between Highway 101 and Highway 33 was reopened just before 5:00 p.m.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
