1 Injured in Encino Car Accident on 101 Freeway near Balboa Boulevard

Encino, California (January 17, 2020) – One person was injured Friday morning in a traffic accident in Encino, according to a local news source.

According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 4:53 a.m. on 101 Freeway at the Balboa Boulevard exit ramp.

A truck, a Jeep and a possibly a sedan were involved in the wreck, the CHP report states. The vehicles were blocking the slow lane of the freeway.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated one person who was trapped in their vehicle.

One person was taken to Northridge hospital with unspecified injuries. The name and current condition of the patient were not immediately disclosed.

Tow trucks were dispatched to the scene to remove the damaged vehicles.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
