The fatal pedestrian collision happened Wednesday morning on Main Street between Dyer Road and Garry Avenue in Santa Ana.
The woman, who was not in a marked crosswalk, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident. An investigation into the crash is underway.
A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
