Woman Seriously Injured in Clairemont Suspected DUI Car Crash at Longford Drive and Clairemont Mesa Boulevard

Woman Sustains Serious Injuries in Clairemont DUI Car Accident at Longford Drive and Clairemont Mesa Boulevard

Clairemont, California (May 6, 2020) – A traffic collision involving a 2018 Honda CRV and a 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup truck in the 5000 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard in Clairemont Monday night resulted in serious injuries.

The Honda CRV motorist, 56-year-old woman, was making a left-hand turn from westbound Clairemont Mesa Boulevard onto Longford Drive when her vehicle was broadsided by the pickup truck at about 7:00 p.m.

The initial report indicated that the Dodge Dakota drove through a red light before the collision.

The female party suffered internal bleeding, multiple back fractures, and bowel injuries following the mishap. She was transported to an area hospital by medical personnel for further medical aid.

The pickup truck operator, a 44-year-old man, was also hospitalized with a fractured femur and later arrested on suspicion of DUI.

The accident remains under investigation by the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division.
