Woman Dies, 42-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after Sacramento Motorcycle Crash on Highway 99
Sacramento, California (May 2, 2020) – One person was killed and another was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on Friday morning in Sacramento, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash transpired at about 5:30 a.m., on May 1, on southbound Highway 99.
As per the police reports, a Yamaha motorcycle drifted from the No. 3 lane to the No. 2 lane where it was rear-ended by a Ford F-150 that was traveling on the roadway.
A female passenger on the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. At the same time, a 42-year-old male, the rider, was transported to a hospital with major injuries.
The Ford driver, a 28-year-old male, was uninjured. He remained at the scene and was cooperating with the police.
Speed is believed to have contributed to the accident. Drugs or alcohol were not considered a factor in the crash.
More details about the crash were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
