60-Year-Old Woman Killed in Playa Vista Ambulance Accident on West Jefferson Boulevard

Los Angeles, California (December 28, 2019) – A taxi passenger was killed Saturday morning in a traffic accident involving a Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance in Playa Vista, Los Angeles, according to authorities.

The fatal crash took place at around 8:22 a.m. in the 13200 block of West Jefferson Boulevard.

Authorities said the ambulance was responding to an emergency call with its lights and sirens activated when for unknown reasons, it was hit by a taxi cab.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and provided medical aid to a 60-year-old female passenger in the taxi. The woman did not survive her injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.

The male driver of the taxi and two LAFD firefighters were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
