Woman Suffers Major Injuries in Goleta Crash on Calle Real near Shopping Center

Goleta, California (March 15, 2020) – A woman sustained serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle as she was walking across a street near the Calle Real Shopping Center in Goleta, according to a local news source.

At about 8:45 p.m. on March 12, officers received a report about the crash in the 5700 block of Calle Real.

As per the report, the woman was struck by a full-size Chevrolet truck while she was crossing the street in a crosswalk.

The woman suffered major injuries and was taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Her name and current condition remained unknown.

The motorist involved in the accident remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. He told the officers that he consumed some alcohol before hitting the woman.

Authorities later found that the driver was not under the influence and was well under the legal limit for blood-alcohol content.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
