Woman Hit and Killed by Car on Highway 273 in Redding

Woman Killed in Redding Pedestrian Accident on Highway 273 near Buenaventura Boulevard

Redding, California (May 19, 2020) – A female pedestrian was hit and killed by a car on Monday night in Redding, according to police.

The deadly crash transpired at about 10:00 p.m., on May 18, on Highway 273 near Buenaventura Boulevard.

As per the police reports, Gessica Leuscher, 25 of Redding, was driving northbound on Highway 273 when she struck a woman who was walking eastbound across Highway 273.

The female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Leuscher, who was not impaired, stopped and was cooperating with the police. Her car was impounded.

Traffic on the roadway was stopped for about an hour.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
