Wayne Ortman Dies after Motorcycle Accident on Highway 33 in Ojai
Wayne Ortman Identified as Person Killed in Ojai Motorcycle Crash on Highway 33
Ojai, California (May 29, 2020) – Authorities have identified Wayne Ortman, 35, of Ventura, as the victim who was killed in a motorcycle accident on Monday morning in Ojai.
At about 10:30 a.m., on May 25, the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly crash on Highway 33, in Los Padres National Forest land. Highway 33 is also known as Maricopa Highway.
A Honda CBR1000, operated by Ortman, was traveling southbound on Highway 33 when it struck the passenger-side front door of a Subaru that was turning southbound from the northbound dirt shoulder on the highway, said the police.
Sadly, Ortman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A front-seat passenger in the Subaru, only identified as a 66-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The Subaru driver, a 65-year-old man, was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
Drugs or alcohol were not believed to have played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
