Hector Carrillo Killed in Huntington Beach Bicycle Accident on Pacific Coast Highway

Huntington Beach, California (March 19, 2020) – 62-year-old Hector Carrillo has been identified as the bicyclist who died following a traffic collision that happened in the area of Huntington Beach Friday night on March 6.

According to the Orange County coroner’s office, Carrillo was hit by a passing 2014 Honda CR V while riding his bicycle southbound on the Pacific Coast Highway Canal overpass, just north of Seapoint Street at around 10:15 p.m.

The initial report indicated that Carrillo was crossing into the northbound lanes of the highway at the time of the collision.

Carrillo sustained serious head injuries in the crash. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Honda motorist, who was identified as a 72-year-old Huntington Beach residence, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Meanwhile, the Huntington Beach Police Department is investigating the cause of the deadly accident.
