Ukiah Rollover Car Collision on Highway 101 near Talmage Road Overpass Seriously Injures 6-Year-Old Boy
33-Year-Old Arnaldo Ramirez Arrested For DUI After Ukiah 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101
Ukiah, California (June 19, 2020) – According to a California Highway Patrol report, a suspected DUI rollover collision that happened on southbound Highway 101, just south of the Talmage Road overpass, in Ukiah Thursday night resulted in serious injuries.
The accident involved a 2004 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck operated by 33-year-old Arnaldo Ramirez and a southbound 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The initial report indicated the Toyota Tacoma slammed into the front end of the Jeep that was driven by a 47-year-old Redwood Valley woman at around 10:45 p.m.
Due to the impact, the pickup truck overturned on the right-hand shoulder of the roadway and came to a stop on its roof.
A 6-year-old boy riding in the pickup truck sustained major injuries following the mishap. He was taken to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley for treatment of a broken arm and a concussion.
Ramirez, an Ukiah resident, was also hospitalized at AHUV with major injuries.
Meanwhile, police arrested Ramirez on suspicion of DUI and endangering a child
There was no other person injured in the wreck, including the Redwood Valley woman.
The CHP is still investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
