Teenage Boy Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle near Hazel and Oak Avenues in Orangevale

Teenage Boy Killed in Orangevale Pedestrian Accident near Hazel and Oak Avenues

Orangevale, California (April 10, 2020) – A teenage boy was struck and killed by a vehicle in the area of  Hazel and Oak avenues in Orangevale Friday morning, according to a local news source.

The boy, who is believed to be between 13-15 years old, was running across Hazel Avenue when a vehicle struck him just after 6:00 a.m.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene after the crash.

Southbound Hazel Avenue was closed as the authorities investigated the crash.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
