Several Injured in Wrong-way Crash on Highway 17 in Los Gatos
At Least 6 Injured in Los Gatos Accident on Highway 17
Los Gatos, California (February 20, 2020) – Several people were injured in a wrong way multi-vehicle crash on northbound lanes of Highway 17 near the Highway 85 junction in Los Gatos, according to a police report.
The Calfornia Highway Patrol responded to the wrong-way crash involving two vehicles and a motorcycle on Thursday, February 20, at around 12:57 a.m.
A 1995 Jeep Wrangler was traveling southbound in the southbound lane when it collided with a 2017 Acura in the fast lane. The Jeep flipped over, and the driver was ejected into the roadway. A 2007 Yamaha motorcycle skidded on the debris from the first cash and lost control, ejecting the motorcyclist as well.
Te crash was reported as a fiery crash as one o the vehicles was fully engulfed into flames.
The driver of the Jeep and the motorcyclist were severely injured and transported to the hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Acura and three passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital as well.
Upon his release from the hospital, the driver of the Jeep will be transported to jail on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The Northbound lanes of Highway 17 were delivered to Lark Avenue between about 1:and 3 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
