San Jose Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 Killed Morgan Hill Man

CHP Investigating Fatal San Jose Car Accident on Highway 101

San Jose, California (February 2, 2020) – A 22-year old Morgan Hill man was killed in a multi-vehicle collision that took place in the area of San Jose at around 12:42 a.m. early on Sunday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal multi-vehicle collision occurred on Highway 101.

The accident began when a 2010 Hyundai Accent was moving at a high rate of speed northbound on the freeway when it crashed into the back of a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander.

The initial report indicated that the Hyundai lost control upon the impact and was struck by a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia big rig. Officials said the Hyundai overturned and caught fire after the collision.

The Hyundai operator was ejected and was hit by a 2012 Mazda 3. The Morgan Hill motorist died in the accident.

Limited details about the wreck were released at the time of the report.

The fatal accident remains under an active investigation.
