Coroner Identify Driver Killed in 2-Vehicle Accident at Fairview Road and Harvard Road in Newberry Springs as Russel Ambrose
Newberry Springs, California (April 26, 2020) – The driver who was killed in a traffic accident that also left a passenger dead Saturday morning in Newberry Springs has been identified as Russel Ambrose, 47, of Newberry Springs.
The deadly accident happened at the intersection of Fairview Road and Harvard Road at about 10:47 a.m. Saturday, April 25.
Authorities said a Polaris Ranger was heading southbound on Harvard Road. At the same time, a Jeep Wrangler, driven by Ambrose, was traveling eastbound on Fairview Road. For unknown reasons, both vehicles collided at the intersection.
Ambrose was flown to St. Mary Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries at about 12:56 p.m.
A 47-Year-Old Newberry Springs man, who was the front seat passenger in the Razor, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
