Ronald Baldonado Injured in Fatal 3-Car Crash on Highway 1 in Ventura County

Ronald Baldonado ID’d as 1 of 2 Injured in Fatal Ventura County Car Crash on Highway 1 near Deer Creek Road

Ventura County, California (May 1, 2020) – One person was killed, and two others were injured in a three-vehicle accident on Friday morning in Ventura County, according to authorities.

The deadly crash happened at about 11:44 a.m. on Highway 1 near Deer Creek Road.

As per the police reports, the crash involved a 2002 International box truck driven by a 42-year-old man from Oxnard, a 2002 Ford flatbed truck, and a 2011 Subaru SUV.

Ronald Baldonado, 61, was driving the Ford southbound on Highway 1 and was slowing down to turn left onto Deer Creek Road. At the same time, the International truck was also traveling southbound Highway 1 behind Baldonado, said the CHP.

The Ford was then rear-ended by the International truck operated by a 42-year-old Oxnard man. The impact of the two vehicles reportedly pushed Baldonado’s Ford into the pathway of the Subaru that was heading northbound on Highway 1, resulting in a second collision.

The 42-year-old Oxnard man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Baldonado sustained moderate injuries while the other driver suffered major injuries. Both patients were transported to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment.

All three vehicles sustained significant damages.

Traffic on the southbound and northbound lanes was diverted to the right shoulder of the highway for around two hours, said the officials.

An investigation into the crash is underway. Anyone with information about the collision is urged to call Ventura Area CHP at (805) 662-2640.

Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, Mr. Arin Khodaverdian believes that car accident claims are rarely straightforward regardless of the circumstances involved. “Liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim and it is crucial, therefore, to have an experienced attorney on your side,” He said.

Mr. Khodaverdian has worked for many years as a wrongful death and personal injury attorney. He and his team of attorneys has helped thousands of injury victims and their families recover over $100 million in compensation. “In one case, we recovered a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim who was killed by a negligent driver.”

Swift action by an experienced attorney helps preserve evidence, interview witnesses, and begin to pursue those responsible for the incident.
