Rider Severely Hurt in Motorcycle Accident in Sonoma County
One Suffers Serious Injuries in Sonoma County Motorcycle Crash on Canfield Road near Blank Road
Sonoma County, California (February 14, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a major injury motorcycle accident that occurred Friday morning in Sonoma County.
The accident occurred on Canfield Road, just north of Blank Road at about 8:30 a.m.
According to the authorities, a large Wilhelm tree-trimming boom truck was heading southbound on Canfield Road at a slow rate of speed when a Suzuki motorcycle crashed into the left tire of the wood chipper.
The motorcycle was also in the southbound lane, following the truck. The rider was reportedly traveling at an unsafe speed and attempted to slow, but lost control and slid on its side.
The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with major injuries.
Impairment was not considered a factor in the crash.
The roadway was reopened at around 10:40 a.m.
An investigation is underway.
