Porsha Standard Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on Interstate 5 in San Diego

Porsha Standard ID’d as Driver Killed in San Diego Car Crash on Interstate 5

San Diego, California (March 16, 2020) – Police officers have released the name of one of the two drivers killed last week in a wrong-way crash on Wednesday, March 11, at around 1:15 a.m in San Diego, as 33-year-old Porsha Standard, of San Diego.

The California Highway Patrol received a report of a wrong-way accident in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Hawthorn Street.

According to a police report, a black sedan was heading south in the northbound lanes when it collided head-on with a northbound vehicle. 

Standard and the other driver were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The other driver was not immediately identified.

The CHP shut down the freeway for several hours following the crash.

The crash is still under investigation.
