Phylis Newell and Carolyne Paradiso Killed in Palm Springs Car Crash on East Vista Chino at North Indian Canyon Drive

Palm Springs, California (March 18, 2020) – A two-vehicle crash at a Palm Springs intersection killed two people and left two others with serious injuries late Monday night, according to authorities.

At about 11:30 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2020, officers responded to the deadly crash on East Vista Chino at North Indian Canyon Drive.

Authorities said a car was speeding northbound on Indian Canyon when it failed to stop at a stop sign at the Palm Springs intersection and collided with another vehicle.

Carolyne Paradiso, 52, and Phylis Newell,68, both of Lawton, Oklahoma, who were in the second vehicle, were declared dead at the scene of the collision.

A third person in the second vehicle and the driver of the first car both suffered major injuries and were rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Intoxication was believed to have been a factor in the accident.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
