Person Hit and Injured by Car at Liquor Store in Spring Valley

Customer Seriously Injured after Spring Valley Car Accident at Liquor Store on Jamacha Boulevard

Spring Valley, California (April 7, 2020) – A driver was killed and one other person injured after a Tuesday morning car crash in La Presa community, Spring Valley.

The deadly crash occurred shortly after 11:00 a.m., on April 7, in the 9500 block of Jamacha Boulevard.

A postal truck was driving eastbound when it swerved northbound across the roadway. The car then went over a curb and crashed into a Jeep that was parked outside the España Liquor store, according to the police.

As per the police report, the truck finally crashed into the Liquor store, and it became lodged into the front of the building near the front counter.

The truck driver, a 50-year-old man a postal employee, was taken to Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa where he succumbed to his injuries.

The male driver suffered from a medical issue before the crash, said the police.

A customer in the Liquor store was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego with a moderate leg injury.

The identities of the involved parties were not released. The building was significantly damaged following the crash.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
