1 Killed in Huntington Beach Pedestrian Accident on 405 Freeway
Huntington Beach, California (May 1, 2020) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in Huntington Thursday night, April 30.
The California Highway Patrol did not immediately establish the circumstances that led to the collision at approximately 10:35 p.m.
The unidentified pedestrian was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
The wreck resulted in the closure of all lanes of the freeway near Beach Boulevard up to about 8 a.m. as police and emergency crews worked to investigate and clear the scene.
A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
