Person Suffers Major Injuries in Visalia Pedestrian Accident on Highway 198 near Mooney Boulevard Off-Ramp
Visalia, California (April 5, 2020) – A traffic accident in Visalia left a pedestrian with serious injuries early Sunday morning, according to authorities.
The pedestrian accident took place at around 12:25 a.m. on Highway 198 near Mooney Boulevard exit.
Authorities said the pedestrian was on the roadway when, for unknown reasons, he or she was struck by a vehicle that was traveling on the westbound side of the highway.
The pedestrian was transported by responding paramedics to a nearby hospital with major injuries. The name and condition of the victim at this time remained undisclosed.
The number 2 lane of Highway 198 was closed following the wreck. It is undetermined if the pedestrian was in a crosswalk when the accident occurred.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
