Person Killed in San Jose Pedestrian Accident near Capitol Station
San Jose, California (May 17, 2020) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Caltrain locomotive Saturday morning in San Jose, authorities said.
The deadly accident happened at around 10:43 a.m. Saturday, May 16, just south of the Capitol Station.
According to the authorities, the pedestrian was on the train tracks when they were hit by the locomotive that was traveling southbound to Gilroy.
The pedestrian died in the accident. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
There were no passengers in the locomotive at the time of the accident.
The accident remains under investigation.
