Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Vehicle on Olde Highway 80 in East County

Person Dies Following Fatal East County Pedestrian Accident on Olde Highway 80 near Flinn Springs County Park

East County, California (December 7, 2019) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle Friday evening in East County, the California Highway Patrol said.

According to the CHP, the fatal pedestrian accident happened shortly after 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 6 on Olde Highway 80, just west of Flinn Springs County Park and about a mile east of the Lake Jennings Park Road exit from Interstate 8.

A caller told the CHP officers that a pedestrian was struck by a black SUV on Olde Highway 80. The driver of the Toyota 4Runner involved in the crash remained at the scene.

The pedestrian whose name has not been disclosed pending family notification died in the accident.

The accident remains under investigation by the CHP.
