Pedestrian Fatally Hit on 91 Freeway in Compton
Man Killed in Compton Pedestrian Accident at 91 Freeway and Wilmington Avenue
Compton, California (January 1, 2020) – A man was killed in an auto-pedestrian collision on Wednesday morning in Compton.
According to a CHP report, the incident occurred on the Artesia (91) Freeway at Wilmington Avenue around 5:30 a.m.
Authorities received a report of a pedestrian lying in the roadway after being hit by a vehicle. Other drivers were reportedly swerving to avoid the victim.
The pedestrian, only identified as a man in his 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
There were no details on the driver involved. A vehicle that had damage consistent with the accident was reportedly near the scene of the crash.
The collision is under investigation by the CHP.
