Female Pedestrian Killed in Modesto Crash at Kerr Avenue and Yosemite Boulevard Tuesday afternoon
Modesto, California (March 31, 2020) – A pedestrian died after getting hit by a car in Modesto Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
The woman, whose name was not immediately disclosed, was walking across Yosemite Boulevard when a GMC Yukon turning left onto Kerr Avenue struck her at about 2:45 p.m.
The woman was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died from her injuries.
The driver of the Yukon stopped at the scene and was cooperative, authorities said. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
