Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by 3 Vehicles on 15 Freeway in San Bernardino

Man Killed in San Bernardino Hit-and-Run Accident on 15 Freeway near Glen Helen Parkway Sunday

San Bernardino, California (April 2, 2020)A hit-and-run accident killed a pedestrian Sunday night in San Bernardino, according to authorities.

Just before 9:00 p.m. Sunday, March 30, the California Highway Patrol officers received a report of the accident on the 15 Freeway, just south of Glen Helen Parkway.

According to the CHP, a man was hit by three vehicles while he was running in the westbound lanes of the 15 Freeway.

The man, whose name has not been released pending family notification, died in the crash.

Authorities said the first driver evaded the scene before police arrived. There was no description provided about the hit-and-run driver and vehicle.

The other two drivers involved in the crash stopped at the scene and were cooperative, police said.

The accident remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the crash is encouraged to contact the San Bernardino CHP Area office at 909-383-4247.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
