Patricia Verducci ID’d as Driver Seriously Injured in Fatal Modesto Car Crash on West Main Street near Carpenter Road

Modesto, California (June 12, 2020) – Patricia Verducci, 56, of Patterson, has been identified as the driver who was seriously injured in a three-vehicle accident that killed one other person on Wednesday night in Modesto, according to the California Highway patrol.

The fatal car crash occurred on West Main Avenue, just east of South Carpenter Road, just after 6:30 p.m., on June 10.

A 2014 Buick was driving westbound on Main Street when it drifted into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on into an oncoming 2006 Chevrolet driven by Nicholas Stanley, 33, of Turlock, the CHP said.

The Buick also struck a 2014 GMC, operated by Verducci, which was following the Chevrolet. The Buick came to a rest on the south shoulder of West Main Street and burst into flames, according to the officials.

The Buick driver was declared dead at the scene. His name was not disclosed.

Verducci sustained major injuries and was taken to Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

Stanley was unhurt in the accident.

It was not clear if intoxication played a role in the mishap.

The crash remains under investigation.
