Palm Springs Man Killed in Desert Center Pedestrian Accident on 10 Freeway near Highway 177 ID’d as Michael Place

Michael Place Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Desert Center Pedestrian Crash on 10 Freeway 

Riverside County, California (January 16, 2020) – The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle last month in the area of Desert Center has been identified as 42-year-old Michael Charles Place of Palm Springs, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatal collision took place at about 6:32 p.m. December 16, on 10 Freeway near State Route 177.

The CHP said a truck hit Charles, who was walking on the highway for undisclosed reasons.

Charles was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

It was not clear whether or not the involved motorist stopped after the wreck and cooperated with the investigation.

Meanwhile, the investigation is underway.
