Ollie Jackson Seriously Injured after SUV, Truck Collides on Auburn Boulevard near Greenback Lane in Citrus Heights

Citrus Heights, California (April 29, 2020) – A head-on crash claimed the lives of two people Thursday night in Citrus Heights and left two other people critically injured, authorities said.

At about 8:20 p.m. Thursday, April 23, emergency personnel responded to the fatal crash in the area of Auburn Boulevard and Charwood Lane, near Greenback Lane.

As per the report, a truck was traveling eastbound on the roadway while an SUV was heading westbound. For unknown reasons, the SUV crossed the center median and struck the truck head-on.

Two people in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been disclosed pending notification of family.

Ollie Jackson, 6, and his father, Cody Jackson, 32, who were in the truck, were taken to a hospital with major injuries.  As of Monday, Ollie Jackson was still in critical condition at UC Davis Children’s Hospital.

Cody Jackson has since been released from the hospital.

Speed was considered a factor in the crash.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
