Napa Police Community Service Officer Injured in Napa DUI Car Crash ID’d as Thayla Garcia
Napa, California (January 18, 2020) – 26-year-old Thayla Garcia has been identified as the Napa Police Department community service officer who sustained minor injuries in an alleged DUI accident on Friday evening in Napa, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The two-vehicle accident occurred at about 7:00 p.m. on Imola Avenue’s Maxwell Bridge.
As per the report, Garcia was sitting in her 2016 Ford pickup with its rear amber lights on when a 2017 Honda Accord driven by 34-year-old Haley Mackenzie Murphy of Napa west on the Avenue rear-ended her truck.
The initial report indicated that officer Garcia was assisting a stranded motorist at the time of the collision.
Garcia was transported to Queen of the Valley Medical Center for treatment of minor wounds sustained in the wreck.
The CHP affirmed that Murphy was intoxicated when she rear-ended the truck.
Murphy was arrested for felony DUI and for driving on a suspended license.
The investigation is underway.
