Police Identify Motorcyclist Killed in San Jose Crash at Monterey Road and Valleyhaven Way as Maurice Dillard

San Jose, California (March 11, 2020) – Police have identified the motorcyclist who was killed last week Tuesday in a traffic crash at an intersection in San Jose as Maurice Dillard, 28, of San Jose.

The deadly accident happened at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3 at the intersection of Monterey Road and Valleyhaven Way.

Authorities said Dillard was riding a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Monterey Road approaching Valleyhaven Way when he was struck by a 2015 Jeep that was making a left turn from southbound Monterey onto Valleyhaven.

Dillard was declared deceased at the scene of the accident.

The female driver of the Jeep and her juvenile passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital.

Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the accident.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
