Marino Dias Killed in Tehama County Truck Accident on South Avenue

Coroner Identify Man Killed in Head-On Collision on South Avenue near Mary Avenue in Tehama County as Marino Dias

Tehama County, California (March 26, 2020) – A head-on collision claimed the life of a man in Tehama County Sunday night, according to authorities.

The Tehama County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Marino Ruiz Dias, 45, possibly a Mexican National. He was living in Corning.

On March 22, at around 10:30 p.m., Dias was driving eastbound on South Avenue west of Mary Avenue when his 2011 Nissan Altima veered into the opposite lane, where it collided head-on with a 2015 Mack big-rig towing a tanker-trailer full of diesel fuel.

Dias sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

Richard L. Murphy, 65, of Chico, who was driving the Mack, was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

It is undetermined if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. The CHP Red Bluff officer asked anyone who witnessed the crash to call them at 527-2034 or the non-emergency line 1-800-TELL-CHP.

Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, Mr. Arin Khodaverdian believes that car accident claims are rarely straightforward regardless of the circumstances involved. “Liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim and it is crucial, therefore, to have an experienced attorney on your side,” He said.

Mr. Khodaverdian encourages victims and their family members to seek legal help as soon as possible in order to preserve their rights to the full extent of the law.

Mr. Khodaverdian has worked for many years as a wrongful death and personal injury attorney. He and his team of attorneys has helped thousands of injury victims and their families recover over $100 million in compensation. “In one case, we recovered a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim who was killed by a negligent driver.”

Swift action by an experienced attorney helps preserve evidence, interview witnesses, and begin to pursue those responsible for the incident.
