Major Injury Monterey Pedestrian Accident on Highway 1 at Aguajito Road

Monterey, California (January 19, 2020) – A male party was struck and seriously hurt in a pedestrian accident that took place in the area of Monterey shortly before 7:37 p.m. on Friday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian collision took place on Highway 1 at Aguajito Road onramp.

As per the CHP report, a male pedestrian was hit by a black Chevrolet Malibu on the northbound side of the freeway for undisclosed reasons.

Due to the impact of the collision, the Malibu acquired moderate front-end damage.

The victim was found laying down on the roadway by emergency crews who arrived at the scene shortly after 7:37 p.m. The patient sustained major trauma and was taken to a hospital by a land ambulance for further medication.

Details about the involved driver were not immediately released at the time of the report.

The CHP is still investigating the cause of the accident.
