57-Year-Old Man Killed in Reedley Crash on Reed Avenue near Adams Avenue
Reedley, California (December 6, 2019) – A 57-year-old Reedley man was killed Thursday evening in a traffic accident involving a semi-truck in Reedley, Fresno County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The tragic wreck took place at around 4:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5 on Reed Avenue near Adams Avenue.
The CHP said a semi-truck was heading southbound on Reedley and was making a turn onto Adams when for an unknown reason, it collided with a Ford Bronco that was traveling northbound on Reedley.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated the Bronco driver, only identified as a 57-year-old Reedley man, who was trapped inside the wreckage. He was then taken to Adventist Hospital, where he later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured and stopped at the scene.
According to the CHP, alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash. The semi-truck driver may be facing misdemeanor manslaughter charges in connection with the crash.
Further details were not immediately provided, and the accident remains under investigation.
