Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on East Avenue R in Palmdale, April 26

Palmdale, California (April 28, 2020) – Authorities are investigating the circumstances that lead to a fatal pedestrian accident at the 2100 block of East Avenue R in Palmdale at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

A 35-year-old Hispanic man died at the scene after being struck by a westbound blue 2015 Chrysler sedan while crossing northbound on a dimly lit part. 

The initial report indicated that the involved motorist attempted to swerve but failed to avoid hitting the man.

Pending notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

The fatal accident remains under an active investigation.
