Man Killed in Merced Motorcycle and Car Crash on Ashby Road near Fern Street

CHP Investigating Fatal Merced Motorcycle Accident on Ashby Road near Fern Street

Merced, California (June 5, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of a fatal motorcycle accident that happened at 2020 Ashby Road near Fern Street in Merced at about 6:45 p.m. June 4.

As per the CHP report, a 51-year-old man died at the scene after his 2004 Honda Rebel collided with a 2004 Lincoln Navigator Thursday night.

The Lincoln driver, 59-year-old Maria Tirado, stopped after the mishap and cooperated with the law.

Pending notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident. An investigation into the crash is underway.
