Homeless Man Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Beach Boulevard at Ronald Drive in Huntington Beach
Huntington Beach, California (May 14, 2020) – Huntington Beach Police Department is investigating the cause of a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred on Beach Boulevard at Ronald Drive in Huntington Beach at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A male party died at the scene after being hit by a 2014 Toyota Prius while crossing the highway Wednesday night.
The Toyota motorist, a 19-year-old Huntington Beach man, was driving southbound on Beach Boulevard prior to the collision.
Pending notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident. An investigation into the crash is underway.
A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
