Man Killed in 5 Freeway Collision near Parker Road Off-Ramp in Castaic

63-Year-Old Ventura Man Killed in Castaic Big Rig Crash on Golden State (5) Freeway

Castaic, California – Following a Castaic big rig accident that occurred on the Golden State (5) Freeway on Wednesday morning, a 67-year-old man from Ventura was killed.

On Wednesday, at around 12:01 am, the CHP stated that a Castaic Tow flatbed was heading northbound on the freeway when it met with an accident with a tractor-trailer for reasons unknown.

The accident happened near the Parker Road off-ramp and the Ventura man who was driving the tow truck was killed.

Due to the accident, debris was left across northbound lanes of the freeway and they were closed from Halsey Canyon Road.

The authorities stated that there was no factor in alcohol or drugs as a cause of the accident.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
