Man Critically Injured in Cajon Pass Pedestrian Accident on 15 Freeway near Mathews Ranch Road
Cajon Pass, California (December 9, 2019) – According to a local news source, a man was critically injured after being hit by a vehicle on the 15 Freeway in the Cajon Pass Sunday night.
The pedestrian accident was reported to the California Highway Patrol officers at about 8:09 p.m. Sunday, December 8 on the northbound 15 Freeway, just north of Mathews Ranch Road, between Kenwood Avenue and Blue Cut.
A caller told the CHP officials that a white 4-door sedan was stopped in the middle of lanes and its driver appeared to be under the influence.
As per the report, a man exited the white vehicle and was struck by a silver Lexus RS350 driven by a woman.
First responders arrived at the crash site and found the man lying down in front of a vehicle in the fast lane. The man sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in grave condition.
The no. 1, 2, 3 and 4 lanes were shut down while the investigation took place. As of 9:08 p.m., all lanes were reopened.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
