Man Hospitalized After Being Struck by Vehicle in Walnut Creek
60-Year-Old Man Injured in Walnut Creek Pedestrian Accident at Ygnacio Valley Road and San Carlos Drive
Walnut Creek, California (February 21, 2020) – A 60-year-old man was hospitalized Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle in Walnut Creek, police said.
The crash occurred in the area of Ygnacio Valley Road and San Carlos Drive, near the entrance to Heather Farm Park at about 5:21 a.m.Thursday, February 20.
According to the police, a pick-up truck was heading westbound on Ygnacio Valley when it hit the man who was walking toward the park inside a designated crosswalk.
The man was taken to nearby John Muir Medical Center with minor injuries. His name and condition at this time remained undisclosed.
The truck driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. It remains unclear if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
