Man Hit, Severely Injured by Car on El Cajon Boulevard in North Park

Man Hospitalized after North Park Pedestrian Crash on Iowa Street at El Cajon Boulevard

San Diego, California (March 29, 2020) – A 45-year-old man was hit and seriously injured by a vehicle while he was walking across a street Sunday evening in North Park, San Diego.

The man, whose name has not been disclosed, was walking northbound across Iowa Street and El Cajon Boulevard in a crosswalk shortly after 5:00 p.m. when he was struck by a Honda Civic that was heading westbound on El Cajon Boulevard.

The man sustained major injuries, including a broken ankle, and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. His name and condition at this time remained undisclosed.

Further details about the accident were not immediately provided.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
