1 Seriously in Lodi Truck Crash on Interstate 5 near Peltier Road

Lodi, California (February 6, 2020) – A person was seriously injured Thursday morning in a traffic accident involving a pair of big rigs in Lodi, the California Highway Patrol report.

The collision happened shortly before noon on Interstate 5, just north of Peltier Road.

According to the report, one big rig rear-ended another truck on northbound Interstate 5.

Authorities said one person sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident. However, the name and condition of the victim at this time remained undisclosed.

The crash caused one of the trucks to spill its load of building materials onto the roadway. As per the report, the other truck was transporting sweet potatoes.

Authorities closed the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 as the investigation and cleaned up took place.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
