Larry Mangrobang Sr ID’d as Man Killed in Bakersfield Car Accident at White Lane and Grissom Street

Bakersfield, California (May 17, 2020) – The man who died in a traffic accident involving four vehicles Tuesday afternoon in Southwest Bakersfield has been identified as Larry Jose Mangrobang Sr., 41, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.

The multi-vehicle crash, which was reported at about 2:33 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, happened at the intersection of White Lane and Grissom Street.

Witnesses told the authorities that a black Honda Civic was heading eastbound on White Lane when its driver allegedly ran a red light at the intersection with Grissom Street and collided with a semi-truck that was making a southbound turn from White Lane onto Grissom Street.

The Honda then collided with a white Chrysler Town & Country van and a white Nissan Versa that were stopped at the intersection in the northbound lanes of Grissom Street.

Mangrobang, who was the driver of the Honda, sustained major injuries following the crash. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

No other injuries were reported.
