Kevin Patland Dies, Gary Lindstrom Arrested after Napa Car Crash at Browns Valley Road and Woodlawn Drive

Napa, California (February 5, 2020) – One person was killed in a suspected DUI crash on Sunday night in Napa, according to police.

The crash happened at about 7:27 p.m., February 2, at Browns Valley Road and Woodlawn Drive.

The police said Gary Lee Lindstrom, 31, was driving an Infiniti G37s west on Browns Valley Road. At the same time, Kevin Brandon Patland, 23, of Rohnert Park, was turning left from Woodlawn Drive towards the eastbound lane of Browns Valley in a Chevrolet Camaro coupe.

Lindstrom then broadsided the Chevrolet near the intersection.

Emergency crews responded and transported Patland to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Lindstrom and his passenger, a 28-year-old Milpitas woman, were taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center in unknown conditions.

The police said DUI allegation against Lindstrom is not connected to Patland’s death but to the injuries caused to his passenger.

Lindstrom was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing injury. He was later released on Monday on $100,000 bail.

The crash remains under investigation.
